Schumer Bringing Free Healthcare to Illegal Immigrants?!

Extra extra read all about it! Illegals get your free healthcare here! Now wouldn’t that be a headline that would cause an uproar? Well, some Democrats think that this should be a headline. While thousands of Americans fight for health insurance and work too hard for coverage Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer thinks illegal immigrants should be able to receive those services – for free.

Maybe Schumer is trying to jockey for position in attempts to get the VP bid on what many expect to be a Biden nomination? Maybe he mistook the President’s kindness as a weakness (more on that in a moment) or it could be that Mr. Schumer has never had to feel the pressure of trying to maintain adequate insurance coverage himself. One story covering these recent events cited a tweet from the Senator which read: “This half measure by the Trump administration isn’t enough… the Trump administration must pledge to continue this critical protection for children and families being treated for serious illnesses… .”

That tweet was in response to an act of kindness by our President and those acts were kept hush-hush for a reason. On September 2, as our story reports, “Trump’s deputies quietly agreed… to allow at least 1,000 illegals to stay in the United States so they can receive expensive health care for a variety of lethal, enduring and debilitating diseases.” That is the heart of our President and an act of humanitarian kindness.

Schumer’s response to these acts as we’ve heard was – more. And now we start to question Senator Schumer about his logic, his reasoning and his motives behind these demands. Our story went on to report as part of the agreement to help those illegals get dire medical care that:

‘…the Labor Day announcement also suggested officials would try to reduce the future approvals of “deferred action” for sick foreigners.’

Apparently, the Senator must have only heard the first part of the message. The President’s administration said the goal was to “reduce” these numbers, not increase them. And this act by the President certainly wasn’t an invitation to suggest “free healthcare.” Look, maybe the Senator just has a bleeding heart for the downtrodden and the sick but he has to know better. Based on many of his statements urging the President to do more, he may not. Either that or he is, as it was mentioned earlier, trying to win favor with Democratic favorite and front-runner Joe Biden.

Biden has been quoted saying things like, “We’re 300,000,000-plus people and the idea that we can’t tolerate saving the lives — or trying to help save the lives — of hundreds of children in deep need is just wrong. It is wrong. It has to stop. Like so many others have said, cruelty is the point here… .”

The words of Senator Schumer sound an awful lot like Mr. Biden’s don’t they? Even though we know both are simply whistling dixie to please constituents because the truth is, facts don’t lie. We all would love to help save every child, no matter where they live in the world, from disease, sickness, and death. The fact is, we can’t. We have all seen pictures and know about the horrible conditions in third-world countries and would love to be able to offer them the medical care they need. The fact is, we can’t. This isn’t about want or will, this is about reality and reason, the facts.

The facts are there aren’t enough doctors, facilities, and medicine in America to help everyone in the world. Fact, we also have those right here at home who are struggling to afford and get the healthcare they need. Not only are Democratic leaders misleading many and touting grand ideas about saving the world, but they are also insulting thousands of Americans who suffer here at home as they do. Sure, they will tell us that their goal isn’t to save the world, just the sickest and most needy of the young. But where do we draw the line, how do we decide, where would that rabbit trail end?

The President has said it, has campaigned on it and has been doing it since day one – putting America first. Taking care of us is no reflection of our desire to help others. It is just reality and the truth and sometimes the truth can be a difficult pill to swallow.
