California has been sliding downhill faster than any conservative can stop it. Most of it’s being done at the hand of Gavin Newsom, the far-left governor who has all sorts of big plans for California.
Right now, he wants to make sure the state of California stops euthanizing cats and dogs. He made the announcement that he wants the state to be a “no-kill state” at a news conference. He’s willing to provide the funding with taxpayer dollars to make it happen, too.
The budget will contain a $50 million general fund allocation to the University of California so that their Koret Shelter Medicine Program can develop a grant program to be used by animal shelters around the state.
The Sacramento Bee explained that the program will help communities and ensure that dogs and cats are not being euthanized if they are adoptable or treatable.
What about babies?
With Newsom feeling this strongly about dogs and cats that are adoptable, what about babies? There could easily be the same argument to identify that there needs to be funding so that babies that are unwanted by their parents are able to go up for adoption to parents who want the opportunity to become parents.
Babies in the womb are apparently fair game for Newsom as he doesn’t plan on putting “no-kill” efforts in place to prevent abortion in the state. In fact, he’s making it easier than ever for women to be able to kill their unborn baby with no questions asked. He actually passed a law that would require public universities to offer abortion pills to the student body.
California is the state where more abortions are happening – and that’s not a statistic to be proud of. According to the Guttmacher Institute, a former research arm of Planned Parenthood, it is estimated that 15 percent of all abortions in the United States take place in California. The problem is that the state has chosen to opt out of reporting their abortion statistics to the CDC – likely because the numbers would be sky-high.
Maybe the worst part is that the attorney general for California doesn’t believe that killing abortion survivors is a form of infanticide. “Abortion survivors,” for the record, are babies that don’t die as a result of the abortion pill or another method taken. This means that if they’re born into the world, they can still be killed – but that doesn’t count as infanticide in California because liberals are incapable of thinking in a humane way when it comes to humans, only with animals.
It’s not just babies that California has no issue with killing. It’s actually humans in general. They’ve legalized assisted suicide. This has also led to insurance companies within the state of California suggesting to people that they should kill themselves using assisted suicide as opposed to paying for the treatment of a patient. And yet, if a person encourages someone to kill themselves, they’re not going to be prosecuted.
Meanwhile, Newsom is fine with spending $50 million to make sure that dogs and cats aren’t euthanized.
As if California hadn’t already become a liberal breeding ground with no rhyme or reason to the laws that they create, this latest news is disappointing to say the very least. It’s essentially saying that the governor (and those who continue to vote for him) have identified that a cat or a dog has more value than a human. Why should a dog or cat be able to live and receive state funding to ensure that they get adopted when a human cannot have the same consideration?
Anyone can go down to a shelter at any time and choose a cat or a dog to adopt. The same is not true about people who have always wanted to have children and want to be able to adopt a baby. Babies are not available at all times. Some people wait years in order to get matched with a baby to adopt, yet California has made it easy for women all over the state to commit murder so that unwanted babies are not being born.
How can all of these ridiculous laws continue to be passed? How can they continue to “opt out” of certain federal laws and not report statistics to the CDC? Only when the state gets to such a low will the residents realize that they don’t need a left-leaning governor like Newsom but a conservative that will provide more rights to human babies than given to stray dogs and cats.
