Dems Finally Succeed in Silencing America Through Terror and Threats

Once Facebook started to lose advertisers, they decided that it was time to clamp down on the “hate speech” that is being blamed for their departure. Now, Reddit is in the process of making a similar statement. Maybe they are hoping to become the next activist target? Of course, it comes as a surprise to no one that a certain subreddit has already gone the way of the dinosaur.

“The_Donald” was a popular pro Trump subreddit on the site but it is no more. In an effort to cover their tracks, Reddit is also banning another subreddit that is connected to a popular socialist podcast. Chapo Trap House fans are simply going to have to head elsewhere if they want to discuss their favorite podcast.

The bans were made as a result of the company’s overhaul of their hate speech policies. It is interesting how these changes always seem to target President Trump and those who support him. According to the Reddit executives who okay’ed the decision, the subreddit was filled with hate speech and they are finally going to be putting a stop to it.

Reddit, one of the largest social networking and message board websites, on Monday banned its biggest community devoted to President Trump as part of an overhaul of its hate speech policies.

The community or “subreddit,” called “The_Donald,” is home to more than 790,000 users who post memes, viral videos and supportive messages about Mr. Trump. Reddit executives said the group, which has been highly influential in cultivating and stoking Mr. Trump’s online base, had consistently broken its rules by allowing people to target and harass others with hate speech.

“Reddit is a place for community and belonging, not for attacking people,” Steve Huffman, the company’s chief executive, said in a call with reporters. “‘The_Donald’ has been in violation of that.”

Reddit said it was also banning roughly 2,000 other communities from across the political spectrum, including one devoted to the leftist podcasting group “Chapo Trap House,” which has about 160,000 regular users. The vast majority of the forums that are being banned are inactive.

The executives want to establish Reddit as a place of community and belonging. Anyone who has spent any amount of time on that cesspool of a website is sure to realize that this is a pipe dream. 2,000 other communities that specialize in political discourse are banned but the vast majority of them are believed to be inactive.

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman gave a flowery statement about the matter as well. You probably already know how this is going to read. He’ll say all sorts of nice things about “his values as an American” and the steps that the company needs to take to align with those values. In his mind, any hate speech that is allowed to take place on Reddit goes against everything that the company stands for.

Huffman is also standing in support with Black Lives Matter and the cynical types out there are sure to read his statements about hate speech as a form of support as well. Ellen K. Pao is the former CEO of Reddit and she is not here for Huffman’s double speak. She wants to know why he thinks he can stand with the Black Lives Matter movement when he has a site that is devoted to hate speech.

For those who are unfamiliar with the “Reddit Revolt” that took place back in 2015, she was a part of it. When an employee who was very popular with the users of the site was let go from their post, Pao and others decided that it was time to quit. YouTube is also getting on the craze, letting David Duke and Richard Spencer go from their platform. They are both banned and there is no indication that they will ever be allowed back.

While no one is ever going to mount an honest defense of a white supremacist (nor should they), there are a number if non white supremacists who are going to be affected by the news. Even the socialist leftists are taking one on the chin here, so its not like anyone can say that this is strictly a complaint from the right wing types.

YouTube has banned several prominent white supremacist channels, including those belonging to Stefan Molyneux, David Duke, and Richard Spencer.

Other channels banned include American Renaissance (with its associated channel AmRen Podcasts) and the channel for Spencer’s National Policy Institute. The channels repeatedly violated YouTube’s policies, a YouTube spokesperson said, by alleging that members of protected groups were inferior. These come alongside other violations that led to YouTube taking action.

This is definitely a victory for cancel culture, though. Those who look to silence everyone that they do not agree with are sure to appreciate the decisions. That’s what America has come to. Free speech does not matter one iota anymore. As soon as you are upsetting anyone, you are done for. Maybe Reddit just got rid of the Chapo Trap House subreddit to cover their tracks?

That way, they can tell the right wing that everyone is being censored and not just them! It’s kind of clever when you stop to think about it for a minute or two. All of the journalists who were sad to see the Chapo Trap House fans upset are definitely not going to say the same about The_Donald.
