8 Elected Democratic and Independent State Officials Switch Party, Join GOP

According to reports, the Mississippi Republican Party is undergoing some massive changes. They are welcoming several new members into the fold. Can you believe that six out of the eight new members that are joining the party used to be Democrats? The two were former independents. It seems that the party’s nonsensical ways are finally catching up to them.

We never thought that we would see the day when all of these people started to change side. To be honest, we thought that they would be willing to go down with the ship. These officials were all elected to their posts during the most recent election cycle and they did not even last until the next one.

This is what the Democratic party deserves for allowing themselves to sink as low as they have. Lucien Smith is the Mississippi Republican Party Chairman and he believes that this is not the last of the defections. The party has a “relentless focus” when it comes to making sure that conservative Democrats are brought over to the right side of the aisle.

The state of Mississippi has very conservative values and is looking for a party that will actually reflect them. They are understandably tired of the Democrats trying to veer further and further to the left, to no avail. That’s what makes the current state of affairs for the Democratic party so vexing.

They are all full of fire and brimstone about the things that supposedly need to be changed but they are not actually getting anything done. This is something that is not lost on those who are truly in the know. If actual members of the Democratic party have had enough, how do you think that the state’s voters are feeling right now?

The eight officials include (via WLBT3):

Matt Sullivan, District Attorney for the Thirteenth Circuit Court District (Covington, Jasper, Simpson and Smith Counties), (Former Democrat)

Covington County

Guy Easterling, Chancery Clerk (Former Independent)

Bobby Wayne Mooney, Justice Court Judge for the Northern District of Covington County (Former Independent)

Smith County

Cindy Austin, Chancery Clerk (Former Democrat)

Anthony Grayson, Circuit Clerk (Former Democrat)

Mary Lou Powell, Tax Assessor-Collector (Former Democrat)

Danny Arender, Beat 4 Supervisor (Former Democrat)

Hulon West, Justice Court Judge for the Southern District of Smith County (Former Democrat)

We would be willing to bet that they are ecstatic about this news, if nothing else. Common sense does not know a party line. It is okay to admit when your party is completely in the wrong. Governor Tate Reeves is newly elected and they are sharing in the sentiment. The Mississippi Republican Party prides itself on providing the building blocks for grounding government in the proper principles that are associated with our liberties.

When one party allows themselves to fall in line with a socialist shyster, it shows that we have a long way to go in this regard. That’s why Governor Reeves is more than pleased to welcome these new members of the Mississippi GOP. Their service is sure to assist a wide range of state residents and they are hoping to keep the Bernie Sanders threat at bay.

The state of Mississippi has made a great deal of progress and it would be a shame for them to lose out because of a few bad apples on the left side of the aisle. The conservative principles that this state stands on are what has allowed them to overcome their past fiscal issues. It is easy to see why elected officials are looking to put a stop to the socialist threat as quickly as they can.

Trump’s increased approval rating has also opened the door for the party to make these changes. The GOP was able to sweep all of the offices across the state as well. The table has been set for a return to normalcy in the state of Mississippi. We can only hope that the rest of the country is eventually willing to follow suit.

The voting patterns are moving in the proper direction. It is only a matter of time before other states start to experience similar shifts. Stories like these restore our faith in democracy and allow us to have a more clear-eyed vision of what the future should be. Conservative Democrats may have been able to control states like these but as the party drifts away from these principles, they are going to have no choice but to switch sides.

There is always a place in the Republican party for conservative Democrats who have grown tired of the usual theatrics. When and if Bernie is able to win the Democratic presidential nomination, we believe that you are going to see a lot more stories like this one.

No sane Democrat wants to be a member of a party that is going to allow themselves to be led into the abyss by a self-proclaimed socialist. There are also those who are growing tired of the constant emphasis on every single thing that President Trump does (or doesn’t) do. This sharp left turn is hard to defend and from the looks of it, much of the Democratic Party agrees.

  1. Speaking as a former long term democrat, it isn’t us deserting the party. It is the party deserting it’s members. This is no longer the democrat party, this is now the socialist/communist party. What true American citizen would want to be a member of that?

    • Exactly! Long time working man and democrat here. I saw the light some years ago! Why is that all the people that want something for nothing are democrats? that’s not what working people want, working people want to earn their own way.

  2. It is refreshing to potentially realize that not all Democrats are suffering from
Trump Derangement Syndrome. Too realize that the needs of our ‘Free Republic”,both
mentally and economically will not be fulfilled by the Foolishness of Radical Socialism.
    Congratulations and welcome….

  3. I come from a family of long time Democrats, because the Democrats use to be for the people of this great nation of ours. Now I don’t know what the Democrat party has become. In 2016, I went against my families wishes and voted for Donald Trump for President. I will do it again in the next election, he makes me so proud to be an American again. I wanted change in the way our government treats it’s peoples with no lies, just straight talk. I am going down to the Republican Head Quarters in my area and join the Republican party next week.

  4. In the 1930’s FD Roosevelt brought in the new deal, social security, and other social ideas. The real problem with that was many of these new social ideas caused the economy to stagnate for over 10 years. However, in the 40’s Roosevelt said “war brings prosperity”. Not really, it was the Greatest Generation of people at the time united by a common cause against NAZI Germany and Japan. Today we have tech generated communication and social media. Ideas are all over the “web” of discontent. People want their freedom to choose, not a Politician to choose for them. Where the Politician claims he knows best. No to Socialist destructive freeless freedom of no choice. Under a system not of the people or for the people. A “System” solely for the Political left. Controlled by the self serving thugs that only want to destroy not create good, yet claim they are for “good”. Antifa on the left, left and white supremacy on the far, far right.

  5. I hope this is a trend that will continue for years to come. Maybe the Dems have created an enormous wave of new recruits to the Republican party that they had no intention of doing due to their extremist, left wing socialist behavior. Although they don’t want Sanders as their standard bearer, they hold the same views as he does but they lie about them in order to gain power.

  6. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.

  7. I like the way you’ve build up your blog and also about the high-quality of your content. I’m planning on starting up my own site soon but sincerely I’m a little lost on everything. Will it be ok to begin with a free program such as WordPress or simply choose a paid solution? With the abundance of options available, I am totally lost. Any recommendations? Thanks a lot.

  8. Whoa! Your website appears more or less like one of my older websites. Though your own is on an entirely varied theme and whilst it simply has the same exact layout and design, I prefer the general color scheme you have decided to make use of. Very good to see how much it is working for you personally!
